Pesonally, I always thought the lyrics were rather trite; for me, it's
Plant's singing that makes them work.  I'm not impressed when I read
them off a piece of paper or a computer screen.  They certainly don't
rival the lyrics for, say, any number of songs off Dylan's "Blood on the
Tracks" album (e.g. "Tangled Un in Blue," "Shelter from the Storm," "A
Simple Twist of Fate").  I love the song; I'm just not knocked out by the
lyrics.
