Don't you have any sense of decency at all?

I understand that most of us do not consider Richard Cole the single most
credible source. Still, it is almost inevitable that in a couple hundred
pages he would get some things right. A few months ago I read "Stairway to
Heaven: Led Zeppelin Uncensored" (the very name inspires confidence) and I
know, I know it was filled with contradictions and inaccuracies,
unbelievable events, downright lies perhaps.

But this one caught my fancy. on page 42 Robert is on his way to meet with
Jimmy to discuss forming a rock'n'roll band:

On his way to Pangbourne, already edgy and nervous,
Robert was accosted in the train station by an elderly woman
offended
by the singers's long hair. "Cut it! Cut your hair!" she screamed.
"Don't you have any sense of decency at all?"
Before Robert could react, she slapped his cheek.

end quote

As Ken Kesey says some things are true even if they never happened.

Of course the question is still an open one.

Has anyone ever heard this vignette from another (preferably more reliable)
source?

Led Zeppelin fucking rules.
