Yes; there were plenty of people at Knebworth, but it was a festival.
Can we really say that they were there for Zeppelin alone? Also, I
didn't say the band had no fans, just that they were losing fans. I know
I'm not the first to say that Knebworth was definitely the end of
something. Who knows how many or few might have showed a year or two
later?

Significantly, even if tons of people went to Knebworth, a significant
number were listening to the show(s) with Punk-inspired categories--a
sure sign of the genre's ascendancy. Listening and appreciating are two
separate categories.

Then, very few kids were becoming Zep fans. Far more were becoming
Punks. When they stopped being Punks they didn't go back to classic
rock, they turned to pop or something else.
