List name...

Hi everyone,

Just a heads-up to let you all know that there have been vague
discussions
on the IRC discussion list (i.e., "eskimo") about the list name and what
to
do about it. I'm sure they will continue...

Jay O'Toole has privately expressed some concerns about his fanzine,
"The Ocean," being
associated/confused with this list.


Here are our choices:

1) Have a vote for a "re-vote"--Do you support a re-vote of the list
name? Yes or No.

[Then if the answer is "yes," then we have to vote all over again.]

2) Don't do or change a thing.

3) Amend the "opening message" that comes with subscription to let the
folks
   know there is no affiliation or association with Jay's newsletter.

4) Allow the list administrator to decide the name and/or what to do.


Note: I personally do not support #4. Further, I think if we decide to
vote
anew on the list name that we shouldn't have the choices narrowed down
to three
"Badgeholders" or "Light and Shade" or "to stay The Ocean" or anything
like that. 
Just my opinion...

Oh, and I hate to drill this into the ground, but the associations with
the newsletters
when choosing the list name was mentioned numerous times. This obviously
was not taken
into consideration, or rather, wasn't deemed significant, by those who
voted for "The Ocean".
