Good morning,
I have this CD and a tape of the Silver Rarities Master Series version and
they are pretty much identicle. The Jelly Roll CD is every bit as good
sound and just as complete. The packaging is nothing to write home about -
a 'treated' colour shot of Page on the front and a couple of B&W shots of
the band in a triple jewel case.
Definitely a worthwhile purchase.
While I'm here:
on the Passionate guitarists vs technical guitarists argument don't fall
into the trap of thinking that just because a guy is excellent technically
he somehow loses all his emotion. Not so. He just expesses this emotion in
a more technical way.
on the 'clean soundboard tapes are crap' argument - check out the Texas Pop
festival tape. It's clean, it's soundboard and it's a corker.
Also, check out Blackmore's Night 'Shadows Of The Moon' CD. A bunch of
medieval music with his bird singing on it. Hmmm.
