Not a flame, but I'd just like to point out that the fast middle
section of the song, beginning with the whistle, is actually a Samba
rhythm, not Calypso or Salsa.
The 'timpany' sound, I believe is actually timbales, a short metal
drum, about 14-15 inches in diameter, about 5-6 inches deep,
if you can imagine a snare drum without the bottom head and snares.
And yes, Bonzo does hit them hard, but he can also be very subtle
and sensitive, much more that you think.
