Well many of you are curious about all the Wisconsin references on the list
in the past week. I don't know who Robert is refering to although a while
back Kevin on the old list mentioned that Robert paid a visit to a dj in Eau
Claire a few years ago.
For me it goes back five years ago this upcoming weekend when I first got a
call from my friend Sue from WI. We had both been going through some tough
times and we became great friends. There was a need for each other and after
about 6 months, the friendship seemed very close.
In the spring of 1993 Robert was doing a bunch of promo interviews for the
FON album. It seemed very humourous to me as he started refering to in his
interviews about the Woman in Wisconsin and at the same time a good
friendship was building for me from my ladyfriend in Wisconsin. I used to
tease Sue about that all the time as it was cute because Sue was a big
Robert fan as well.
I finally did get to meet Sue last fall. After four years of correspondence
over the phone, exchanging Christmas and Birthday presents we met. It was in
November at the Odeon Concert Club in Cleveland. I know several people on
this list were there when that happened. They just didn't know what was
going on.
I gave several of these tapes to a friend last week for her birthday as I
thought it would be something for her to enjoy. There is a coincidence here
as well. The lady I gave those tapes to, like Sue is also a nurse from the
midwest.
