Spam problems

Ever since Chris closed the list to non-subscribers (to stop the spam),
I've been receiving a lot of personalized spam, in the form of 3-6 letters
a day.  I'm just wondering if anybody else has experienced a similar
phenomenon, or if it's just a coincidence?

Just today I received two "Make 50,000 dollars" scams and one "Improve
Your Dating Life" scam.  Does this sound familiar to any of you?
