Perhaps this is his opininion and he has a right to feel that way. Not all
of us feel the same on every issue, or what a boring world this would be.

I know that in my favorite Led Zeppelin songs Jimmy is one of the front
musicians. I have a somewhat traditional thought of the roles of bassists
and drummers. Their main function is to keep time. Which is why having a
fucked up drummer can be a problem for a show.

We all know that every single one of those musicians were extremely
talented. It is pointless to say who had the most talent, because together
they were completely genius, and apart they miss some of the magic.
However, Page and Plant do to capture "some" of that magic on their own.

When I think of poppy blues numbers I don't think of Led Zeppelin. When I
think of poppy music, I think of music that is overhyped. Led Zeppelin may
have been one of the most popular groups of all time, but they were also
pioneers. Let's not forget that.

Well, you see, as I was saying above. I think a bassists main purpose is
to keep the timing. A few bass solos here and there are ok, imo, but the
bass wasn't not meant to be a lead instrument, nor were the drums. These
are timing instruments. Bonzo and Jonesy were very solid at this
throughout their careers.

You know, there's not point in getting upset over someone else's
ignorance. When people tell me that, I either prove that Led Zeppelin had
a bit of diversity or I just blow them off. Let them believe what they
want to believe. I don't even find them being classified as a heavy metal
band bad anyways. The line between heavy metal and hard rock is a fine
line. You would be surprised at what some people consider heavy metal.

I wouldn't say that they never struck in the same place twice, but I can
agree that they were very diverse. This is one of the main reasons I like
them as much as I do. With my three favorite bands, you can take a song
and tell whether it came from the beginning of their career, or somewhere
else down the line. Funny enough, all three of them were/are what I
consider pioneer bands. Two of them still exist in some form or another.
