Hey Kids...
Out of lurkdom I break once again, for my second annual post for those of
you who don't know, or forgot, that solo Robert Plant sings country!
Ladies, listen up! Guys, listen up or maybe you should hit the delete
key now!! :)
If you don't have it yet, you *must* pick up a copy of the tribute album
to Arthur Alexander (sorry, the title escapes me--e me if you're
interested)...where Robert covers "If It's Really Got to Be That Way"...
country style...with pedal steel quitar and everything...I just can't
remember when I have ever heard his voice sound so...*good*...
unbelievable...and he sings this sad, sad song in an *absolutely*
*heartbreakingly* *beautfiful* voice...it actually cracks with emotion...
I guess he really had to *act* on this one...a woman *breaking up* with
*ROBERT*? C'mon now!!! I could probably put up with *anything* from a
man that could look and sound that good doing whatever it was that was
making me angry!! Well I guess there may be such *crazy* women out there
somewhere... :) like Maureen?...
One of the neatest things about this performance is that the version by
Arthur A., was not done in country style at all. I love it when
musicians put their own personal style and expression into it! (especially
if it's Robert... :) )
OK, back I go...I hope I'm not missing anything important (*of course*
I'm missing something important!)...the digests are stacking up, but
remain undeleted...until I have some time....
Oh, to all the people I owe tapes...they will arrive!!!! You're so
patient...thanx!!!
