I have heard both of these statements more than a few times.  Another one
that I have heard before is the one my wife has.  She thinks that they
are just another heavy metal, drug loving rock group.  She does not understand
why I like them so much.  I have tried to explain it to her, but we have
agreed that she leaves my musical taste alone and I let her live.

I don't agree with her, but I married her and I love her.  We obviously
have very different pasts.
