Hard to pick a favourite one, so I`ll have to babble a bit.
Honourable mentions:
*Essen, Germany 3/22/73* Highlight would be Bonham`s incredible drumming. Everyone else is
in great form as well, but Bonham is at his best. Before the bow solo they do a bit of `Cold
Sweat`. Also `San Francisco` is great. A `four red ones and two purple ones` night for Bonham.
*Ottawa, 4/14/70* A shorter Dazed, only 15 minutes long, but it packs as much a punch as the
later ones. Plant screeches very well, if not a little haggard. Bonham and Jones are very fluid
and Page plays great. A version with a lot of `light and shade`. Very subdued until after the
bow solo and it gets really fast and really loud and very angry. An `eight Valium and three
horse tranquilizer` night for Mr. Page.
*Adelaide, 2/19/72* Best song on the tape by far. Bonham is the highlight once again.
No drugs this afternoon as the cop prescence is just too much.
And the best Dazed & Confused:
*Boston, 9/07/71* The whole band at their absolute best. Page is on fire the whole night and
especially during Dazed. A very experimental version as well... recognizing they couldn`t do
much wrong tonight they take this tune all over the place. A minute or two before the last verse
Page does some heavy riffing very 1/2 minute that is just incredible and won`t be heard again
(hopefully saving it for the P/P album). Very wild version and the best I`ve heard. Lots of cocaine
on the brain for everyone tonight. And a hot pepper up Plant`s ass.
