Hey ho Badgeholders,
Jack Fredgill wrote things along the lines of Led Zeppelin fans are a
dying breed. I disagree. I am young (17) and have been heavily
into Led Zeppelin for about 7 months. I personally think that a good
song will never die and with the sheer volume of good songs that Led
Zeppelin wrote their presence in the Music world will never be
forgotten. Look at the Beatles. They were a brilliant group and
currently in Britain there loads of people who buy and enjoy
listening to their music. Led Zeppelin differ slightly because there
weren't as big in the commercial sense.
I do agree that we will never be able to experience the awe that
people around at the time of Led Zeppelin had but I'm sure we can get
close. I am currently listening to Stairway to Heaven from a concert
in Mobil in '73 (I'm not sure 'cause the C.D. is about 250 miles
away) and the passion that I can hear in the guitar solo is amazing
and I could listen to it for hours on end. And they are
undoubtedly the greatest live band ever. How many bands could play a
four and a half hour concert with 45 minutes worth of music it is
just astounding.
I agree completely with the last sentence.
Also my favourite group of any people would be
John Bonham
Paul McCartney
Jimi Hendrix
Freddie Mercury
Some of the songs coming out would be phenomenal. Voodoo Rhapsody,
Hey Kashmir anyone?
Rob.
