>See above. Jean is unresponsive. As it was explained to Jean to me-the
>content of her posts are justified under two counts:
1) The content of her posts contributes to the diversity of the
list. First of all, how far can one stretch a marginally-related
(at best) post and still claim it is relevent to the list. After all
Jean has posted about walking into a convience store and hearing
Zeppelin music playing in the store. How relevent is this?
2) The content of a post is relevent when a requisite number of
folks respond to it. The argument for such criteria does not
hold water when placed under scrutiny. So the question is- if I start
a thread about the hairs in Robert Plant's nose and enough
people respond, then the post is relevent? C'mon, there's no
common sense being applied here.
The point is that this is a public forum. Jean expresses an opinion and
someone disagrees. Opinions by definition are open to dispute. If
someone wants to dismantle Jean's opinions, then more power to them- I
believe that it's called free speech. Furthermore, if an individual is
ultilizing a literary sledgehammer to pulzerize Jean's opinions, then
let them. It's my belief that people are responsible enough to take
responsibility for their posts. 'Nuff said.
