Rainer contributions - NZC

Hi All,  I, like the rest of you, was saddened by the news of Rainer's
passing.  I just read his obituary from the Daily News out of Tucson
(thanks, Julie, for posting the URL).  In the article it says that he died
w/o medical insurance.  A catastrophic illness like his must have left the
family in dire financial straits.  I was reminded of Jeff's posting last
year of the address for a fund set up with a Tucson bank to help defray
Rainer's medical expenses.  Many of us contributed but most had our checks
returned as the account had been closed.  If any of you in the Tucson area
know of the establishment of a new account or to whom one should direct an
offer of assistance, please post it to the list.  We are a generous lot and
many would, I'm sure, like to contribute in some small way.
