unreleased zep

I haven't been paying much attention in recent years to boots or new
releases, etc., simply because I don't collect anymore-but I am aware of
several unreleased tracks from the very early days that I don't believe
have turned up yet. Back around 94 I was contacted by a guy from the
midlands whose father had apparently been friends with/worked for Bonzo.
His father had recently passed away, and he had come across a reel to
reel in the attic (they always seem to be there don't they!) that he
claimed had 4 or 5 unreleased Zep songs from around 69-70 ( I can't
swear to all the details now as I'm just recalling from memory). The guy
seemed genuine, and basically wanted me to act on his behalf in asking
if these were of any interest to the other band members, and if so would
it be possible for him to at least ask for some sort of "finders fee".
He didn't set any amount that he wanted for them and I personally felt
that in similar circumstances we would all hope for some sort of reward.
I passed the info on to both Plant and Page camps, which at that time
were two different groups. Both were interested, which told me the tape
must be legit, but they all balked at paying the guy anything for it. He
felt very offended by that response, and at that point I put him in
direct touch and I backed out of the picture because I just didn't feel
comfortable being in the middle. I have no idea what ever happened to
that tape, but obviously hoped the situation had ended up well for all.
Is it possible that in the intervening time that I have not been
involved much in 'fandom' that the songs were already released, possibly
even as a bootleg if the guy got no satisfaction? I still have the
original correspondence with him somewhere, and will try to find it
eventually so that I can tell you the name of the songs. I could also
then make an effort to follow up on whatever happened, just out of
curosity.
