With all the recent lyric discussion, I thought this might be good for a laugh
for those who haven't seen it. In the early '80s, Atlantic reissued the
"Immigrant Song'' single in Japan. At the time it was the only place to get a
clean copy of "Hey, Hey, What Can I Do?''
So I got it home and inside was the Immigrant Song lyrics, in English and in
Japanese. God only knows what they say in Japanese, but the English
translation is a hoot. I couldn't believe an official single had this bad a
transcription. This is exactly as it appears on the sleeve:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I have Japanese vinyl versions of all the Zep albums. Some have lyric sheets in
them (can't remember which ones, I'm gettin' old) and they are all a great
laugh. One of my favorite lines is:
Rise and shine, Burnin bread
dreams of you all through my head
What song is that from? Black Baker? Pastry dog?

Subject: Celebrating Zeppelin Month in Tokyo & More!
Hey Everyone:
Greetings from sweltering and humid downtown Tokyo where I was wondering if
anyone ever still reads these reports?
Led Zeppelin month got off to a fine start here the other day. OK, so it's
not officially Led Zeppelin month according to my DC Comics calendar
calendar, but look at the overwhelming evidence that it SHOULD be declared:
Rockin On and Player magazines which are two of the largest magazines
covering the rock world here BOTH had Zepp on the cover. Rockin On (which
I'm proud to say has the good sense to send my wife free lance translation
jobs) ran an interview with Page & Plant from Rolling Stone in 1975. Player
had some features.
Other magazines due later in the month such as Burn and Guitar are sure to
have some articles and possibly the covers.
The original individual Remastered Zepp CDs were released in PAPER SLEEVES
today. The only way to describe these releases is totally Awesome!! They
have everything the original LPs had (the wheel moves for III, the windows
are die cut on Phys Graff) and they have a cool little obi on the side.
By the way, TSRTS didn't mention anything about being remastered on the
cover. Also, today Whole Lotta Love single and the 2 CD Remasters set was
re-released.
BBC is due to be released on the 15th which means it will actually hit the
shops on the 14th! That's only ten short days from now. I can't wait to see
and hear what they have done with this set.
MTV Japan will have a Led Zeppelin Sunday on November 31st. A couple of the
features on the day will be interviews and videos from bands influenced by
Zepp (everyone!), Rocumentary, and a Zepp special. I hope it's got some new
footage in it. !
Good people of the Ocean, the above consists of more than sufficient
evidence to declare this a Zepp month. Any objections? :)
In other CD news, there are plenty more titles coming from the underground.
If anyone is interested in CDs, please email me privately. Please note that
my email address has changed to: (fisheads@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx)
