Tree announcement - BBC/XYZ/Toronto

I would suggest that everyone goes for this one. it is rare that something
like this turns up. The 3/19/69 BBC tape is a "lost" tape to the BBC and
don't expect to see it as an ep to the BBC sessions. Sunshine Woman is a
definite upgrade in sound quality. I need to publically thank Eddie for
sending me the BBC tape.

>A couple of weeks ago I promised to tree the newly surfaced AM broadcast
>of the lost BBC session, recorded on March 19th 1969. It's only an 18
>minute tape and I've been thinking about what other material I should
>include.
>
>Some suggested making a tree of all BBC material that won't be included
>on the forthcoming official release. I quite liked that idea, but so
>many people already have that material that it would be a bit wasteful.
>
>Instead, I'm going to include a couple of other gems that have just hit
>the trading circles, and were kindly supplied to me a few days ago by
>Don Olker (who will probably be helping out with the tree).
>
>The tree will consist of a single C90 containing the following material:
>
>1. March 19th 1969 BBC session, recorded from a BBC World Service AM
>broadcast (18 mins).
>
>2. The XYZ sessions, featuring ex-members of Yes and Zep (22 mins).
>
>3. February 2nd 1969 Toronto - now including "Killing Floor" (46 mins).
>
>I've already given full details of the BBC tape in previous posts, so I
>won't go on about that any more, except to say that the tracks are "What
>Is And What Should Never Be", "I Can't Quit You Baby", "You Shook Me"
>(incomplete) and "Sunshine Woman".
>
>The XYZ sessions are excellent stereo studio recordings. A couple of
>instrumentals (one of which is a prototype of The Firm's "Fortune
>Hunter") and a couple of songs complete with vocals. I know very little
>about how this tape came into circulation - perhaps Don or somebody else
>on the list can tell us something about it. I'm told that there is
>probably more of this material in existence, but I don't know whether
>it's likely to surface soon.
>
>The tape of the Toronto show from the first US tour was reviewed in the
>Electric Magic fanzine five years ago, but only became available earlier
>this year with the release of the Totonka CD "The Rockpile Canada".
>Much to my and many other people's annoyance, "Killing Floor" was left
>off that CD, but I'm pleased to say the complete tape is now in
>circulation. The sound quality of this one is a bit erratic - mostly
>quite good for the time but affected in parts by excessive hiss due to
>low recording levels (this tape is no better than the CD).
>
>To sign up for this tree, please e-mail me (eddie@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)
>with the following details:
>
>Name
>e-mail address
>Country of residence (plus state if in USA)
>Whether you want to be a branch or leaf
>
>Please state if you want the material on DAT. If so, say whether you
>will be willing to make analog copies for branches (I don't know if this
>will be necessary - depends on how many sign-ups I get).
>
>If you haven't the faintest idea what I'm talking about but think you
>might be interested if you did, check out the FAQL on Larry's tape tree
