I have no idea why Travis and Meat Loaf are in the movie.  From what I've
read it's about a truck driver recently released from jail for running over
people, and the title "Black Dog" is named after the phantom figure that
drivers on a long overnight haul sometimes imagine they see in the
headlights.  This was the first I've ever heard of this and my dad was a
truck driver, though I guess I never asked him what "black dog" meant.
Apparently no Zep connection.  There's also a techno band called Black Dog.
