Question about lyrics

Well now that this list has been moved to Stanford,
I figured I would re-post this here.

This may come as a shock to some of you, but I actually have
a question about some Led Zeppelin lyrics:

In the song "Night Flight"
the line that goes:

- -someone pushed a gun into my hand
 tell me I'm the type of man-

the way I make out the next line is:

- -to fight the fight without inquiring.-

I'm not sure it's right.
what do you people make that out to be?
